Nordic
Bulkers AB has entered into an agreement with the container leasing company
Peacock Container BV. In accordance with the agreement Nordic Bulkers
has been appointed the general agent for Peacock and the leasing of tank
containers in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The tankcontainers are of various
types and are being used for the transportation of liquid chemicals and
foodstuffs as well as for intermediate storage. Tankcontainers can also
be tailor made by Peacock for specific requirements and special liquids
or condensed gases.
Peacock, which is a 50/50 joint venture between the Dutch company Van Ommeren and the German company VTG-Lehnkering, is one of the major independent tank container leasing companies in Europe with a current fleet of 2,500 tank containers.
The tank container-leasing agency will become a complement to Nordic Bulkers' bulk logistics operation with a focus on environmentally friendly and economical intermodal transportation.
Nordic Bulkers holds a strong position among logistics companies in Europe, concentrating on intermodal transportation, storage and terminal handling of dry and liquid bulk products, mainly for the chemicals, building materials, agricultural and food industries. Nordic Bulkers, which has 40 employees, a turnover of approximately SEK 300 million, subsidiaries in Spain and the UK included, is part of the Broströms' business area Bulk Logistics.
